Our team develops and employs techniques to monitor threatened green sturgeon across California’s Central Valley. We combine a variety of detection methods and census models to detect spawning adults and provide rigorous estimates of population abundance. In addition to providing important data for managing populations, our work allows research and conservation teams to improve field sampling efficiency and quantify populations with more precision.
