Our research focuses on understanding, monitoring, and predicting the physical processes that contribute to shifts in the production, abundance, and distribution of marine populations. In particular, we focus on:
-Analyses of historical environmental data sets, numerical model simulations (run in both hindcast and forecast modes), and fisheries data.
-Identification and characterization of critical marine habitat from remote sensing, ocean models, and in situ tagging data.
-Exploration of indices and climate drivers of California Current ecosystem structure, function, and biodiversity.
-Development of ecosystem-based fisheries management projects, tools, and assessments.
